About The Program
The International PhD Program in Taiwan and Transcultural Studies focuses on the study of culture from an interdisciplinary perspective, placing Asian studies within the context of social and ecological forces that shape the past and future. We take a comparative and transnational approach to literature, visual culture, and performance, connecting them to topics such as colonialism and post colonialism, migration and globality, the environmental humanities, and Sinophone and diasporic cultures. Dedicated to cutting-edge research across the humanities, the program aims to equip graduates with intellectual and practical skills which prepare them for careers in academia or the cultural and creative industries.
